Open positions and applications
Select Open positions in the sidebar. On mobile, open the navigation menu and choose the same item. The separate Player search section opens teammate search. The directory contains open positions published by active teams. A team may publish several positions for different player roles. Manage them under My team → Positions. The Open a position button in the roster opens the separate creation screen rather than a modal; positions are not team settings.
When creating or editing a position, select one or more roles. Primary roles are grouped by side: T has Entry, Trader, and Lurker; CT has Anchor and Rotator; AWP is separate. At least one primary role is required. IGL and Support are optional additional duties. These checkboxes feed filters and SMART matching, while the team writes exact requirements independently in the position title and description. The description toolbar supports bold, italic, bulleted lists, and numbered lists.
The SMART switch ranks positions against your player profile. Within T and CT, one selected role in each populated group is enough; populated groups, AWP, and every selected additional duty must match together. A matching role set is marked as a fit; region, a shared language, and FACEIT ELO proximity help order the options. This is guidance rather than a restriction: you may still apply to a low match when the application action is available. Use the classic directory without a completed profile.
Use Filters to choose roles, regions, languages, maps and a team's average FACEIT ELO range, then select Apply. Any selected value may match within one group; different groups must match together. An active ELO range excludes teams without a known average rating. Filters cover the available directory, not just cards already loaded.
Details lead with the position title, roles, and description. Compact About the team, maps, and time zone follow when provided. A time zone is not a training schedule. The ordinary open state has no redundant “Recruiting” label. If you can manage this position, its details show an Edit button that opens the same position under My team → Positions. Other users do not see this button.
The directory shows the total number of positions. Refresh it to check changes. Load the next positions with the pagination button; if loading fails, retry it without losing the items already displayed. When SMART ranking uses a bounded server pool, the results explain that limitation.
Select anywhere on a position card to open its details and application form. The position title and player roles lead; the team is secondary context. The card also shows a short description, region, languages, first publication date, unique views, and unique candidates. If the team explicitly provides a public contact, the card shows it too; private contacts and member channels are never used as a fallback. Reopening it from the same account does not increase views; applicant identities and manager decisions are never exposed publicly. The details let you compare every open position from that team and switch to the best fit. Search publishes positions, not roster player identities.
Average FACEIT ELO uses known ratings from the starting five. Starting five X/5 and Players total are separate metrics. A full starting five does not prevent a position for a replacement or substitute.
Send an application
- Open the position card and select Apply in its details.
- In the single Tell us about yourself field, write 20 to 500 characters about your experience, goals, and playing hours. The position already defines the roles, so you do not select one again.
- Select Send application.
Your player profile is attached automatically. Do not include passwords, login codes, or other secrets in the message. Links are prohibited in position titles and descriptions, application messages, and invitation messages. A contact saved in an older application may still be shown, but the new form no longer asks for a separate contact.
The application starts as Pending. View or withdraw it under Offers → Teams → My applications. You can apply independently to different positions from the same team.
If the owner or captain is interested, they send a separate invitation with their own message. It appears under Offers → Teams → Invitations. You join only after confirming the invitation; new members enter the pool instead of the starting five automatically.
An application may become unavailable when the position is closed or the team is hidden or archived. A ready player profile and linked Steam account are also required. Roster capacity is checked later when the team sends an invitation.
